The Derrick Wood Foundation’s "Fore the Love of Fathers" Golf Tournament is more than just a day of golf—it’s a chance to create life-changing opportunities for children who need it most. This year, proceeds from the tournament will support a groundbreaking initiative in Ghana to help orphaned and underserved children not just survive, but thrive.

Why We’re Hosting This Tournament
During a recent visit to Ghana, our team had the honor of spending a day with over 50 students who lack the basic necessities most of us take for granted. These children, many of whom have lost their parents, are cared for by the dedicated founder of their school. While we provided them with meals and a day of arts and crafts, we learned that their biggest need is consistent food security.

Rather than simply providing daily meals, the Derrick Wood Foundation is committed to creating a sustainable solution that will empower these students and their community for years to come.

Our Vision for Sustainable Impact
With the funds raised from this golf tournament, we plan to:

1. Establish Hydroponic and Indoor Growing SystemsTeach students how to grow their own vegetables and herbs year-round, ensuring access to fresh, nutritious food.
   
2. Provide Farm AnimalsEquip the school with animals like chickens and goats, which will provide eggs, milk, and opportunities to reproduce for long-term sustainability.
   
3. Teach Self-SufficiencyEducate the students on how to care for the animals and gardens, creating a model they can replicate in their community to help others.
